Our Expansion is Complete

It's done. After more than a year of construction, dust, detours, and the occasional jackhammer at 7 AM, the expansion of North Rustico Home Hardware Building Centre is officially complete. And we have to say — it was worth every bit of it.
The building centre has grown by thousands of square feet of new retail space. If you haven't been in since the construction started, you're going to notice the difference the moment you walk through the door. The aisles are wider. The departments are bigger. And we can finally carry the range of products this community deserves without stacking things to the ceiling.
The new kitchen and bath showroom is something we're especially proud of. Full displays, modern layouts, and a proper design space where you can sit down with our team and plan your renovation from countertops to cabinet hardware. If you've been putting off a kitchen or bathroom project, come have a look — it's a lot easier to make decisions when you can see and touch the materials.
Out in the yard, we've expanded our lumber and building materials storage significantly. More framing lumber, more sheet goods, more decking, more trim. For the contractors who depend on us, this means fewer backorders and faster loading. For homeowners, it means a better selection of materials for whatever you're building.
We need to take a moment to say something about how we got here. Wayne Buote started this business in 1990 with three employees, one flatbed truck, and a forklift. He and Lise bought a small Home Hardware in North Rustico because they believed a rural community deserved a real building supply store. Nearly thirty years later, the store employs over 50 people. Chris Buote and general manager Jim Clark are on the floor every day, same as Wayne was. The family approach hasn't changed — just the square footage.
This expansion didn't happen because of some corporate growth strategy. It happened because you kept coming through the door. Because your projects got bigger. Because you told us what you needed and we listened. Every new aisle, every new display, every extra pallet of lumber in the yard — that's for you.
